Course Description
This Course is COMING SOON.
Please feel free to e-mail us to let us know you are interested and we will notify you when this course has been made available.
This Level 3 e-class will start you on your journey to obtaining your Commissioned/Armed Security license.
Some of the topics we cover include:
- Penal Code
- Rights to Arrest
- Handcuffing
- Defensive Tactics
- Firearms
Please Note: This course ONLY covers the lecture portion and Level 3 written exam. Once successfully completed you will still need to complete the in-person Defensive Tactics and Firearm Qualification (for an additional fee).
You may complete the Defensive Tactics and Firearm Qualification with Phoenix or you can complete them with another licensed DT and Firearms Instructor.
We offer the Firearm portion every week, Thursday mornings at 7:30am. You will need to print out your certificate and bring it with you so that we can complete it for you.
Once you have completed the online class, you will be issued a partially-complete Certificate. In order to fully complete the class and obtain a completed certificate you must attend the in-person Defensive Tactics and Firearm Qualification. Again, these Qualifications must be completed by a licensed DT and Firearms Instructor.
Once you have completed BOTH the online and in-person portions your Level 3 your Firearms Instructor will fill out the remainder of the required information and sign off on your certificate. You will need to give a copy of your certificate to your employer and either they or you will need to complete the State application for your Armed Security License.
PLEASE NOTE: Beginning January 1, 2024, According to HB 3424 ALL Level 3 applicants will also be required to complete in person Defensive Tactics in addition to the Firearm Qualification. By January 1, 2024 our schedule and requirements will be adjusted to reflect this change. This may effect the future price of our Level 3 Course.
Additionally, ALL Level 3 applicants (first time or renewals) will be required to take the MMPI (psychological evaluation) with a licensed psychologist and submit a copy of the declaration of psychological health to TOPS when applying for the license.
